The National Association of Goldsmiths (N.A.G.) was established in 1894 as a membership organisation, designed to serve and support the Jewellery Industry of Great Britain and Ireland.

The National Association of Goldsmiths (N.A.G) was established in 1894 as a membership organisation, designed to serve and support the Jewellery Industry of Great Britain and Ireland.

The N.A.G promotes the highest professional standards amongst its membership, to inspire consumer confidence and to enhance the reputation of its members. The N.A.G supports members in the most vital aspects of running a jeweller's shop from dispute resolution, to customer services maximisation, staff education and management efficiency, whilst also acting as the main service points for Government, Trading Standards and the media to turn to for advice on the jewellery trade.

The N.A.G runs a number of groups and bodies designed to support every aspect of the trade. Most notorious are the Institute of Registered Valuers (IRV), the Executive Development Forum (EDF) and SaferGems. These bodies run alongside the Professional Jewellers Diploma's that the N.A.G offers as part of our continued commitment to education & training in the jewellery trade. Our work also extends to collaborating with the Responsibly Jewellery Council (RJC), and The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) on schemes to ensure the ethical sourcing of precious metals and gems through the Kimberly Process and FairTrade & FairMined Gold initiatives.
